National – Australia

Marathon Racing

Kayak/Canoe flatwater Marathon racing  paddlers are selected to represent Australia in annual World Championships. The National Championships distances paddled are raced over approximately 38-42 kilometres.  Classes K1, K2, C1 and C2.

Paddlers selected in the Australian Team paddle in the World Club and World Championships.

To be selected paddlers must be financial with Australia Canoeing Inc.

Once selected the paddler may wear the current Australian Canoeing Team uniform which complies to  The Australian Canoeing Team Uniform Policy.

Athletes must be familiar with updated: ICF Canoe Marathon Competition Rules 2015 (Taking effect from 1 January 2015).

In place is Australian Canoe Marathon Team Selection Policies and Team Nomination. These policies must be read in conjunction with AC Selection Procedure By-Law, AC Anti-Doping By-Law (effective 1 January 2015) and Team Members By-Law.

Sprint Racing

Kayak/Canoe flatwater sprint racing has been apart of the Olympic Games since 1936. The distances paddled are 200 metres, 500 metres and 1000 metres. Classes K1, K2 and K4.

To be selected paddlers must be financial with Australia Canoeing Inc.

Once selected the paddler may wear the current Australian Canoeing Team uniform which complies to  The Australian Canoeing Team Uniform Policy.

In place is Australian Canoe Sprint Team Selection Policies and Team Nomination. These policies must be read in conjunction with AC Selection Procedure By-Law, AC Anti-Doping By-Law (effective 1 January 2015) and Team Members By-Law.
